International Fund for Cultural Diversity
The International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) is a voluntary multi-donor fund established under Article 18 of the Convention. Its purpose is to promote sustainable development and poverty reduction in developing countries by fostering the emergence of a dynamic cultural sector in those countries.
IFCD is mainly funded by voluntary contributions from States Parties to the Convention. Contributions currently amount to more than $9 million, including three contributions from the Government of Québec totaling $250,000.
