The 4th edition of the Offices jeunesse internationaux du Québec (LOJIQ) award ceremony was held at the National Assembly on May 29 to recognize the excellence of 12 international youth mobility projects. The Minister of International Relations and Minister responsible for La Francophonie, Monique Gagnon-Tremblay, presented two awards, including the Grand Prix LOJIQ 2012.

Raconteur-slammer-singer Mathieu Lippé won the Grand Prix for his innovative approach to the French language and wordplay. In addition to receiving the Prix LOJIQ – Francophonie at the Bourse Rideau 2011, he also gained considerable attention at the Biennales du spectacle de Nantes, the Festival du mot at Charité sur Loire and the Jeux de la Francophonie in Beirut.

The other awards were presented to winners from across Québec who excelled in the following areas:

  • Francophonie
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Civic engagement
  • Professional development
  • Socio-professional integration
  • Culture
  • Communication
  • Academic success
  • Raising awareness of entrepreneurship
  • Recognition

“I am proud to see so many young people participating in this movement reflecting Québec’s openness on the world. When they leave to experience life abroad, they come back with a different perspective, enriched with new horizons, with new-found confidence and insatiable curiosity. This is why the mobility of young people is a key component of our international policy,” said Minister Gagnon-Tremblay.
