Québec companies make good impression at computer graphics conference in Los Angeles

Brought together under the ACM SIGGRAPH Montréal umbrella, over 16 VFX studios, hi-tech companies, research centres and training organizations participated in the annual SIGGRAPH 2012 Conference in Los Angeles from August 6 to 9.

SIGGRAPH is the premier international computer graphics and interactive techniques event and attracts more than 20,000 attendees each year.

The Québec Government Office in Los Angeles worked closely with the Québec companies to help them prepare their participation in this world-class event. A networking activity was also held to promote Québec expertise in bleeding-edge technologies and identify possible partnerships with California companies. The activity was jointly organized by the Consulate General of Canada in Los Angeles, Investissement Québec, Montréal International and ACM SIGGRAPH Montréal.

Québec today ranks among the hottest spots in the world for computer game and interactive content development. Québec’s digital entertainment industry is comprised of over 80 companies specializing in game development, publishing, production services, software and middleware. These companies employ 7,000 people and also generate many indirect jobs.
