Resounding success at Gamescom 2012 in Germany
Some one dozen Québec companies took part in Gamescom, the largest European interactive game fair, in Cologne, Germany, from August 15 to 19. The Ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation (MDEIE) acted as the architect of Québec’s participation. The Québec companies also benefited from consulting and support services provided by the economic section of the Québec Government Office in Munich during the fair.
Under the Canada Pavilion banner, the Québec companies were able to present their products to and hold meetings with companies from around the world in order to establish new partnerships. The exhibitors included:

- Infinite Game Publishing
- Minority Media
In addition, Alliance numérique CEO Pierre Proulx attended to take the pulse of the German markets and take note of the latest technological innovations. He also used the occasion to promote the ninth annual Montréal International Game Summit, which will be held this coming November.
Gamescom in numbers
Gamescom 2012 attracted more than 24,500 video game professionals from over 70 countries. The main attractions were mobile, on-line, browser, next generation motion and 3D games.

- 600 exhibitors from 40 countries
- 5,300 journalists from 54 pays
The mandate of the Québec Government Office in Munich includes providing support for Québec companies in their exporting ventures and their search for business partners in the German, Austrian and Swiss markets. It also advises and provides support for Québec companies during fairs, trade shows and trade missions in these countries.
