Aerospace: a strategic partnership for Québec and Ohio

Aéro Montréal, Québec’s aerospace cluster, and the Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Québec (CRIAQ), signed two major strategic cooperation agreements in September with the Ohio Aerospace Institute. Since it was actively involved in reaching these agreements, the Québec Government Office in Chicago was represented at the signing by Éric Marquis, who assisted in initiating these new partnerships.

The agreements were signed in Montreal during the 2nd Aerospace Global Supply Chain Summit and are very important to Québec and Ohio, which are considered leaders of the aerospace industry. Thus, the agreements will create major outlets for research and development and business opportunities. In that interest, the Québec Government Office in Chicago will conduct a mission with Québec businesses and research institutions in Ohio as part of the next Ohio-Canada Aerospace Summit in Cleveland at the end of February 2013.

About the Summit

The Aerospace Global Supply Chain Summit was organized by Aéro Montréal in conjunction with the Green Aviation Research and Development Network (GARDN). It discussed the latest innovations in the unmanned aerial systems sector, which includes many outstanding Québec companies. Over 300 participants, including around fifty American businesses and research institutions, attended the Summit.
