On January 21, was held in Washington DC the official Inauguration Ceremony of President Barack Obama upon his second mandate at the White House. The presidential inauguration is the traditional occasion for several activities and gatherings in the American capital. Québec’s Delegate General in New York, André Boisclair, was present at the event.

The presence of the Québec Government at this event is predominant for Québec to mark the importance of its relations with its most significant economic and commercial partner. The Inauguration Ceremony is also the occasion for networking and representation activities with high level American spokesmen.

The Québec presence in the United States contributes to reaching the Government objectives on that territory, namely by furthering economic exchanges, assuring its leadership on energetic and environmental plans, showing its contribution to the security of the North American continent and increasing its capacity for international action in the United States.
