François Gendron, Deputy Premier and Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, has awarded the Prix Personnalité de l'exportation alimentaire du Québec (Québec food export personality prize) to Fiore Napolitano, Vice-President, Sales, Aliments O'Sole Mio Inc.

The prize was presented on April 30 during the Canadian Agri-Food Export Gala, held in Toronto as part of SIAL Canada.

The awarding of this 18th edition of the prize was an opportunity to highlight the importance of food exports as a driving force for Québec’s economic development and underline the talent of local food producers and processors, who contribute to Québec’s prosperity and help export Québec expertise.

SIAL Canada

Held from April 30 to May 2, SIAL Canada, the International Food & Beverage Tradeshow, is Canada’s largest international biofood event.

Over 80 Québec businesses are taking part in this year’s edition, most of them under the umbrella of the Agri-Food Export Group Québec–Canada and Aliments du Québec.

The program includes opportunities for one-on-one meetings between Québec exhibitors and about 50 qualified foreign buyers. The Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) and its partners have also dispatched representatives to the event, with a view to referring international buyers to Québec businesspeople interested in developing export markets.
