Shanghai 2010: interns wanted

The Québec International Youth Offices (Offices jeunesse internationaux du Québec/ LOJIQ) have issued a call for candidates interested in forming a delegation of eight young Montréalers responsible for promoting Espace Montréal at the 2010 Shanghai Universal Exhibition as part of an internship program. The delegation will be based in China from July 15 until August 20.

The interns will be assigned to Espace Montréal’s visitor information centre, where they will assist the City of Montréal’s sustainable development experts. Their main responsibilities will include promoting Espace Montréal’s on-site presence, raising awareness of sustainable development, maintaining up-to-date visitor traffic statistics and monitoring coverage of environmental issues in the English-language Chinese press.

Espace Montréal in Shanghai

Organized around the theme of “Better City, Better Life”, Shanghai’s Universal Exhibition, which runs from May 1 to October 30, 2010, brings together 200 exhibitors from around the world. Along with 50 other cities, Montréal will be featured in the “Best Urban Practices” area, which will present original solutions aimed at improving the quality of urban life and sharing urban development experiences. Espace Montréal will also provide visitors with an opportunity to discover the Saint Michel Environmental Complex.

Young people interested in applying should obtain further information and complete the online form by April 23. This project is being implemented in partnership with the City of Montréal, the Ministère des Relations internationales du Québec and the Montréal Youth Council (CJM).
