Health: Québec-Brazil meeting
Head table at the opening ceremony of the symposium
The 3rd Symposium of the Luso-Francophone Health Conference (COLUFRAS) was held in December in Campo Grande, Brazil. The Québec Office in São Paulo participated in the event, which was organized in collaboration with the National Council of Secretaries of State for Health (CONASS).
Ms. Gravel wrapped up by inviting the participants to get involved in the work of the Observatoire international de la santé et des services sociaux (OISSS, international observatory of health and social services), which was established by the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS).
The symposium brought together experts from France, Portugal, and Brazil. Some fifteen Québec specialists from the Institut national de santé publique (INSPQ, national institute of public health), École nationale d’administration publique (ÉNA, national school of public administration), Université de Montréal, the Conseil québécois d’agrément des établissements de santé (CQAES, Québec council for the certification of health establishments), and the private sector also attended. ÉNAP and CONASS took the opportunity to sign a letter of intent to establish a mechanism for the exchange of information and training activities for public servants in the community health sector.
A cooperation agreement has been in effect between the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux and CONASS since 2004.
COLUFRAS is an international non-governmental initiative headquartered in Montréal.
