Issues at the heart of Ministère des Relations internationales actions
On September 22, Minister Gagnon-Tremblay held discussions with members of the Cercle québécois des affaires internationales.
As one of the activities marking the 10th anniversary of the Cercle québécois des affaires internationales, Minister of International Relations and Minister responsible for La Francophonie Monique Gagnon-Tremblay held discussions with members of the Cercle.
- The role of Québec’s missions and network of representations abroad in the development of long-lasting ties with international partners
- The importance of the Québec government’s U.S. Strategy, which was announced in January 2010, as well as its strategy with regard to Europe, which will be announced in the coming months
- The indispensable nature of interdepartmental cooperation and cluster groups for the implementation of strategies and plans such as the Plan Nord
- Promising markets such as China and Brazil
Minister Gagnon-Tremblay also used the opportunity to congratulate the Cercle for its first decade of activities. She welcomed the interest of young people in Québec’s international relations and expressed her satisfaction with the quality of the up-and-coming generation.
Founded in 2001, the Cercle québécois des affaires internationales is a think tank and forum whose goal is to improve understanding of international issues and to position Québec on the world stage. Composed of business leaders, researchers and professionals in the Québec City area, the Cercle has been supported by the Ministère des Relations internationales since its inception.
