    Rio+20: Call for projects and accreditation — Reminder

    From Knowledge to Action: IPY 2012 Montréal Conference

    Premier Jean Charest participated in the opening ceremony of the International Polar Year (IPY) 2012 Conference, which was held in Montréal from April 22 to 27. Mr. Charest reiterated the importance of developing the North and conserving its territories for the benefit of local communities before an audience of over 2,500 people. Many media representatives from Québec and the world over attended the event.

    European Parliament Conference: Québec’s lead in sustainable development

    Québec Delegate General in Brussels Christos Sirros, Associate Deputy Minister - Forêt Québec Richard Savard, and MDDEP representative Robert Noël de Tilly (Ministère du Développement durable, de l’Environnement et des Parcs) recently took part in a conference in Brussels organized by the European Intergroup on Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development. They were invited to present the Québec model. Québec is viewed as a pioneer in sustainable development and forest management.

    Québec and Bavaria establish Plan Nord partnership

    Taking advantage of their presence at the 6th Conference of Heads of Government of Partner Regions, which was held from April 11 to 13 in São Paulo, Brazil, Québec Premier Jean Charest and his counterpart, Bavarian Minister-President Horst Seehofer, signed a Joint Declaration on joint initiatives related to the Plan Nord.
