    50th anniversary of the Québec Government Office in Paris: A day devoted to La Francophonie

    Last June 20 in Paris, Monique Gagnon-Tremblay, Minister of International Relations and Minister responsible for La Francophonie, opened a symposium entitled “Le français et la montée des pays émergents” (the French language and emerging countries). The event took place as part of the 50th anniversary of the Québec Government Office in Paris, under the patronage of Alain Juppé, French Minister of Foreign and European Affairs.

    Labour mobility: four new MRAs between Québec and France

    The Minister of International Relations and Minister Responsible for La Francophonie, Monique Gagnon-Tremblay, and the Minister attached to the Ministre d’État, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Responsible for Cooperation, Henri de Raincourt, participated in a ceremony during which four new mutual recognition arrangements (MRAs) were signed today in Paris. The signing took place in parallel with the third meeting of the Bilateral Committee Responsible for Implementing the Québec-France Understanding on Mutual Recognition of Professional Qualifications.

    InterAction Council: Premier Charest addresses former heads of state and government

    Québec City hosted the 29th Annual Plenary Meeting of the InterAction Council from May 28 to 31. The event was attended by a number of members of the InterAction Council, which brings together former heads of state and government keen to contribute to the search for solutions to leading world problems. Québec Premier Jean Charest gave a speech during the opening ceremony for this year’s meeting, which focused on water security.
