    Québec’s biosphere reserves — an example to follow

    On December 15, Claude Fleury, Director of the Québec Government Office in Barcelona (BQB), gave a speech in the county of Amposta, Catalonia, on Québec’s biosphere reserves. His presentation was part of an event held to launch Spain’s candidacy for the regions of Ebro and Matarranya (located respectively in Catalonia and Aragon) to obtain the status of World Biosphere Reserves, awarded by UNESCO.

    Québec City theatre company performs Chekhov in São Paulo

    As part of the festivities surrounding the 150th anniversary of the birth of Russian author Anton Chekhov, Québec City’s Théâtre du Trident performed Three Sisters in Brazil. The production was directed by Wajdi Mouawad.

    First meeting of Québec-Bavarian industrial clusters in Munich

    On November 22 and 23, some fifty Quebecers participated in the first meeting of Québec-Bavarian industrial clusters in Munich. The delegation was led by Clément Gignac, Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade. Life science, biotechnology, and information technology and communications were the main sectors targeted.

    Mayor Régis Labeaume was in New York and Philadelphia on November 22 and 23 to promote Québec City’s economic development.
