    The Premier promotes the Plan Nord in Japan

    From August 24 to 27, Québec’s Premier, Jean Charest, will conduct a mission in Japan, accompanied by the Minister of International Relations, Monique Gagnon-Tremblay, and the President of Investissement Québec, Jacques Daoust. He will take part in several political and business meetings in an effort to strengthen relations between Québec and Japan, a key partner in the growth and diversification Québec’s economy. He will also promote the Plan Nord.

    Québec expresses its sympathy to the Japanese people

    Japan’s new ambassador, Kaoru Ishikawa, made an official visit to Québec City on March 15. After the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan and its population, Québec’s Premier, Jean Charest, and its Minister of International Relations and Minister responsible for La Francophonie, Monique Gagnon-Tremblay, wanted to express the sympathy of Quebecers to the Japanese people.

    2010 Québec-Japan Award

    The winner of the 2010 Québec-Japan Award is Les Affaires journalist Martin Jolicoeur. The award will enable him to spend about ten days in Japan to prepare a series of reports on the development of the country’s aeronautics industry as well as on issues relating to it and its future prospects.

    Québec-Japan culinary exchanges

    Under an agreement signed in Montréal by the Institut de tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) and the All Japan Chefs Association (AJCA), apprentice chefs from Québec will be able to take part in internships in Japan and their Japanese counterparts will have a chance to participate in internships in Québec.
