    Transportation agreement with Mexico

    The Québec ground transportation cluster, in conjunction with the Québec Government Office in Mexico City, has just announced that a cooperation agreement has been signed with the Asociacion nacional de productores de autobuses, camiones y tractocamiones (ANPACT) from Mexico. It was signed in the presence of Christiane Pelchat, Québec’s Delegate General in Mexico City, Denis Robillard, Chief Executive Officer of the Québec ground transportation cluster, and Carlos García Fernández, President of ANPACT.

    Québec-Mexico: cooperation takes centre stage

    The 13th Meeting of the Québec-Mexico Working Group (QMWG), which was co-chaired by Robert Keating, the Assistant Deputy Minister for Bilateral Affairs at the Ministère des Relations internationales of Québec, and Rogelio Granguillhome Morfin, the Head of the Economic Relations and International Cooperation Unit at the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, was held in Québec City on June 16.

    The 15th Children’s Film Festival of Mexico, which will take place from August 8 to 15, 2010, will pay tribute to Quebecer Rock Demers, father of Tales for All. A Cargo to Africa by Québec producer Roger Cantin and starring Pierre Lebeau. This feature will also be screened in the festival’s official competition.

    Québec-Mexico: forging stronger bilateral ties

    Montréal provided the setting for Premier Jean Charest’s first official meeting with Mexican President Felipe Calderon on May 28 during Mr. Calderon’s two-day visit to Canada. They were joined by Mexico’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Patricia Espinosa, as well as by the Ministers of the Economy, Transport, Communications and Tourism. Pierre Arcand, Quebec’s Minister of International Relations and Minister Responsible for La Francophonie, also attended.

    Youth cooperation agreement with Mexican state of Jalisco

    The Office Québec-Amériques pour la jeunesse (OQAJ) and the Instituto Jalisciense de la Juventud (IJJ — Jalisco Youth Institute) recently signed a cooperation agreement concerning the implementation of a joint exchange program for young adults in Québec and the Mexican state of Jalisco.

    New agreement with the State of Jalisco: The Premier strengthens Québec-Mexico relations

    Following bilateral discussions in Québec City between Premier Jean Charest and the Governor of the state of Jalisco, Mexico, Emilio González Márquez, the two governments signed a cooperation agreement to further consolidate the close ties that exist between Québec and Jalisco. The agreement will lead to the development of alliances and the implementation of cooperation activities over the short and medium term, primarily in education, culture, the economy and tourism. Encouraging the participation of young people is also a goal.
