    Québec takes part in the 35th session of UNESCO´s General Conference

    The 35th session of UNESCO´s General Conference concluded on October 23. Capping off three weeks of activities, the Conference´s 193 member states set out UNESCO´s strategic goals and action plan, in addition to reviewing and adopting the organization´s 2010-2011 program and budget. During the session, the Conference also ratified the proposal submitted by UNESCO´s Executive Council, which nominated Irina Bokova to succeed Director-General Koichiro Matsuura.

    Mexico: six Québec universities at 15th CONACYT Postgraduate Studies Fair

    Six Québec universities—Université de Montréal, Université Laval, Université de Sherbrooke, Concordia University, École Polytechnique and École de technologie supérieure de Montréal—participated in the 15th Quality Postgraduate Studies Fair of the National Science and Technology Council (CONACYT) of Mexico, which was held from April 4 to 11 in Mexico City, Mazatlán, Puebla and Oaxaca.

    Maritime strategy: Minister St-Pierre on a mission in Chicago

    Minister Christine St-Pierre participated in her first international mission in conjunction with the executive meeting of the Council of Great Lakes Governors (CGLG) on April 25 and 26 in Chicago. At this meeting, the next Summit of the Council of Great Lakes Governors was officially set for 2015 in Québec.
