At the instigation of the Fondation de l’entrepreneurship and the Québec Government Office in Paris, 13 Québec entrepreneurs under 35 years of age travelled to France from February 17 to 21 for an entrepreneurial assistance project known as operation mentorés.

The objective was to inform the young entrepreneurs, who are mentored by the Fondation de l’entrepreneurship, of business opportunities in the French market and give French business school students a chance to experience what it is actually like to work as commercial attachés before entering the job market.

The 13 young Québec entrepreneurs were paired with 150 second-year French students in INSEEC’s Master of International Management program to implement an export strategy developed by the French students since January through a series of personal meetings and other activities.

Overall, the participants felt it was an enriching experience. The work they accomplished may increase the opportunities for Québec businesses to break into the French market.
